Welcome to The Xperience Edit!

Your healthy hair journey starts with understanding your hair type. Knowing your curl pattern can help you choose the right products, build an effective hair care routine, and better understand your hair's unique needs.

One of the best ways to identify your curl pattern is by observing your hair while it is wet and free from styling products. Keep in mind that it is completely normal to have more than one curl pattern on a single head of hair.

Hair Types Explained

  • 1A: Straight from root to tip

  • 1B: Straight from root to mid-shaft, straight from mid-shaft to tip

  • 1C: Straight from root with some wave formation

Type 2: Wavy Hair

  • 2A: Loose, subtle waves

  • 2B: More defined S-shaped waves

  • 2C: Strong waves with some curl formation

Type 3: Curly Hair

  • 3A: Large, loose curls

  • 3B: Defined, springy ringlets

  • 3C: Tight corkscrew curls

Type 4: Coily Hair

  • 4A: Defined, tight coils

  • 4B: Z-shaped coils with less definition

Understanding your hair type is the first step toward achieving your hair goals. Once you identify the curl pattern that most closely matches your hair, you'll be better equipped to choose products and techniques that support healthy, thriving hair.
